Making one or two small changes at first, and really committing to them. A complete lifestyle overhaul is daunting, and many times, results in failure. Remember that you don’t have to be perfect – you just have to be consistent. It’s what you do *most of the time* that will have an impact. All of those little changes, day after day, add up to big transformation.
With so many variations, new pieces of equipment and a wide array of trendy studio classes, it can feel super overwhelming trying to determine what will yield the best results. Focusing on the big lifts that recruit muscles all over your body – back squats, deadlifts, bench presses, overhead presses, pull-ups, chin-ups, etc. – will build strength and transform your body composition. These exercises take thousands and thousands of repetitions to master. By narrowing your focus to just a handful of big movements (instead of trying 47 different variations of squats, for example), you will solidify your form. Better form translates into greater strength and more power over time.
